Carey,
Thank you for your email. I appreciate your well-supported argument to allow e-bikes on the bus. After researching the issue to ensure safety, WeGo has amended the e-bike rule, which will go into effect on March 1, 2024.

See their new policy: https://www.wegotransit.com/assets/1/6/2024-02-08_ebike_policy_FINAL.pdf.

Dear Mr. Bland, Chair Williams and Board Members

I understand that WeGo is reconsidering your prohibition against e-bikes on bus bike racks. I would like to encourage a change in this policy as e-bikes are becoming more and more prevalent. They now outsell electric cars in the U.S. Many senior citizens such as myself have transitioned to e-bikes as we become less able to maneuver Nashville heat and hills on a legacy bike. Mayor O’Connell is clearly supportive of multi-modal transportation and this includes buses, bicycles and e-bikes.

If you would like to discuss the world of e-bikes feel free to contact me to learn more.
